Southern California has reached an agreement with the federal government to conserve water in Lake Mead. The Biden Administration will pay the Imperial Irrigation District $77.6 million to conserve 100,000 acre-feet of water. The water will be used to support households and farming in the region. The agreement aims to raise the elevation of Lake Mead and make farmers financially whole.
